I graduated in psychology from the University of Exeter in 1993 and then completed a PhD (1994-1997) at University College London on depth perception with Alan Johnston as my thesis advisor. I was a postdoc at the MRC's Visual Development Unit from 1997-2002, working on infant vision and neuroimaging of the visual pathways. Since 2002 I have been a lecturer at Brunel University, currently as part of the Department of Life Sciences in the College of Health and Life Sciences
